Bluetooth adapter installation on Windows XP SP2
For those of you who have been having problems with installation of bluetooth adapters with Windows XP SP2. I have the solution for you.
- First thing you want to do is make sure that it is compatible with Windows XP.
- Do NOT plug in the USB adapter before installation of the software!
- Begin software installation and follow the prompts.
- Plug in the Adapter when windows says it cannot find a USB adapter and wait for it to configure the adapter click Ok when it says it is installed and ready for use. Continue with installation to the end. You will see the at the top left of the screen some automatic windows installation boxes, just let it finish till the end.
- After installation is complete click on the My Blue tooth places icon in the system tray and turn on the device(s) you want to connect and set them in Discoverable mode so that your computer will find them(it).
- You should see the device show up and you can enjoy your bluetooth experience.

been trying to install desma dongle (desmaco) on PC with widcomm software but device not found and no option available to make it visible as yet. Comment pops up saying your bluetooth software does not have a license to support this device. The installation CD was enclosed with the device though so why would it not have proper license for it? Have done everything the wizard said and tried loads of times. Any suggestions? Got the device to transfer files beween phone and PC (XP SP2)

If you are having problems installing your bluetooth adapter, then
uninstall what you have installed and just start over.
Microsoft has not yet certified any bluetooth software for vendors so
that is why you will get the message. That does not mean the software
will not work all you have to do is install the software first BEFORE
you slide in the adapter. Follow the prompts and give the computer
time to do its installation because it will take a while (mine took
about 10 minutes to install). When the pop up appears asking if you
are sure you want to continue ..click Yes.
Then it will pop up a message saying bluetooth adapter not found and
that is when you plug the adapter in the computer and just let the
software be installed automatically. Be patient because at some point
I was about to stop the installation but I just let it finish and I
was pleased with the outcome.
Message me if you still have problems and I will put together a
comprehensive instruction set for you (put a comment on the site).
Note: I use the Kensington adapter.
